With large collection of teak timber from the owner, the house has teak wood as main finish materials including the row of remarkable size teak pillars along the terrace framing a swimming pool, earning it the name “Pillars House”. Guest quarter is laid in master plan in the front wing, separating the entrance court from the semi-private courtyard with swimming pool as the central element of the house while the L-shape private area is set behind, having the pool, the covered terrace and a koi fish pond link the 2 zones together. This central court serves as main multipurpose space for both guest and family members.

Juxtaposing simple hip roofs with wooden look cement tiles and concrete slab brings a sense of modernity while yet be harmoniously merge in with local environment. Additionally, the space underneath hip roofs allows high slope ceiling and continuity of the outside in. Other materials used to balance out the majority used of wood are metal and leather in loose furniture and hi-gloss finish on built-in furniture, adding on an accent for a lively relaxing in the house.
