Emerging from a 4.8-hectare plot of land in the heart of the city, the King Power Complex comprises of 4 components; a 12,000 square meter Duty Free Mall sales area; a 570-seat theatre and dining facility; the King Power Headquarters and a 388-room 4-Star hotel. The entire complex sits upon an underground parking garage which accommodates up to one thousand cars.
The planning of the complex was divided into two zones; the first being the duty-free mall, theatre and office; and second, the hotel. The two zones are connected by an inner boulevard which is lush with trees, a texturized path and calmness of water pond.
The canopied drop-off strip accommodates 4-5 coaches at a time, while there is capacity for 40 parked coaches in the shade underneath the building to the rear of the complex.
Crown Atrium -- Not only designed as the central core of circulation, also expresses the rich cultural heritage of Thailand and the modernization of the country. Inspired by Thai crafts, motifs and the pattern of ancient Thai goldware, the elements of the Crown Atrium are well-engineered using high technology to seek an equilibrium between the construction method, energy use, the light and temperature conditions and construction cost. With its scale and context, the eye-catching Crown Atrium will eventually become a highlight in the area and may well be another symbol of Bangkok and the region.
Hotel -- With 388 guestrooms, Pullman King Power Hotel occupies a 21-storey, south wing tower and a 6-floor, L-shaped low-rise to the west and north, surrounding a grand, inner courtyard. First-floor guestrooms are especially provided with an intimate touch, opening out to a long, narrow lotus pond which amplifies the sense of oriental living by the water.
At the inner boulevard, Pullman King Power Hotel welcomes guests with a colonnaded arrival courtyard, defining the border into tranquility. Dropped off under the shade of rain tree, guests are led to the grand lobby, which is connected to banquet hall, and catch a glimpse of the inner courtyard, where all day dining and lobby lounge are served.
On the upper floor; the spa, function rooms and Asian fusion food restaurant are arrayed, while the glazed-edge swimming pool over-hangs the grand courtyard.
The whole design traverses the line between typical urban hospitality and resort-style hotel by lavishly expanding large open spaces, such as the central courtyard, and incorporating waterscape and ample local greenery throughout the complex. Natural light diffuses through trellis and shading screens also amplify tropical ambience to the public areas. Pullman King Power is designed to be a resort-like hotel in the heart of Bangkok.
